I've had two car loans through them. They're okay, not stellar. They make it difficult to contact them by phone; everything goes through a call center, no individual numbers for the branches, and long hold times. When I've changed auto insurance carriers, they've misplaced the new statement of insurance I've sent them, and sent me a scolding letter demanding the same proof of insurance I'd already provided. Every time. And there are signs on the doors of the branches instructing you to take off your hat and sunglasses when you enter, which doesn't give me a good feeling about what they think of their clientele. But the people are generally very nice, and once you do get to a real person they're usually pretty quick and good at their jobs. They've never lost a payment or anything, so there's that. It's not really a BAD experience. Just don't expect the level of customer service you'd find as a good customer of a big bank.
I went to deposit a check at this location and told everything was good to go but when I checked my account the check was placed on almost a two week hold I was not informed at all. I call the call center and they weren’t any help either not much information was giving to me . When I asked if they call and verify the check I was told that they couldn’t. When I finally got a hold of the branch manager after many many tries of calling she told me there was nothing that can be done. It was very disappointed because when I go to the Gurnee location I have no issues there at all.....no wonder this location is closing this month.. will no longer be going there to this month....Horrible service from this location and the call center.
OMG- I had a small savings account formerly Phone-Co Credit. Great Lakes subtracted a total of $20.00 monthly fees from this savings account.. who ever heard of a savings account being charged monthly fees.. Closed my account so dissatisfied....
