Good selection of fish products and fish but its sad for me to say but the fish tanks to not look well maintained. a lot of dead fish in the tanks looks like they sat for days, some fish acting very lethargic and it doesn't look like the water testing kits have been touched in a long time. If you don't have anyone to take care of the fish section feel to shoot me an email. id be more then happy to come aboard your team and a few days out of the week come in to do tank maintenance to make sure the fish are healthy
Not very good. My wife and I went to petplus about three weeks ago and started the process of adopting a small kitten named Jinx. We were approved and put money down but the little girl wasn't ready to come home. They told me they'd give me a call in three days to come get her. Time passed, we called got no answers from anyone and they kept saying that someone would call us. I finally went in to see what was up and it turns out the kitten passed away and no-one bothered to tell us. A simple phone call and that was to hard. I will never go too this store again. I have a dog and another cat but from now on its Petco
I adopted my pup Tony from here. He's such a sweetheart and in terms of feeding the store made sure they're well taken care of. The store manager Jordan was amazingly helpful and genuinely cared about each and every pup or dog leaving the store. My pup Tony was able to pass the service dog in training assessment and I couldn't be happier. The only reason I didn't give the store 5 stars is because Tony had a belly full of 3 kinds of worms. The vet they used said there were "no sufficient findings" when I received his paperwork, which was dated 1 day before I adopted him. I took him to a vet close to me and they told me he had a belly full of worms that looked like they had been present for a month. None of the pups are house trained yet and their ages range from 2 months to 1 year when I was there.
This is a pet store which essentially ships puppys up from down south for a price. Then sells them for hundreds of dollars and slaps the word "adopt" and "rescue" on them. This is a pet store, not a shelter or rescue. I even heard they accept volunteers even though they are a for-profit business. If you are a well intentioned person who is looking to rescue an animal, please do not be fooled and exploited. I'm sure the staff cares about the animals but they are perpetuating and worsening the homeless animal crisis in Philadelphia. Never "adopt" a puppy from down south especially if the organizations can't provide PROOF that the mother was also rescued and spayed.
They have certain delivery day the their live feed stock is available. Its not easy acquiring what our snake needs everywhere. Some pet shops don't carry live food. Otherwise I would recommend it to my friends and family.
I love this store! My family and I were thinking about adopting a puppy or dog and an employee named Matt or Matthew and a female(who's name I have forgotten) helped us by answering all of our questions (and we had alot of them!)! He was so knowledgeable about all the animals and it was blatantly obvious that he cared for and loved them all!! We have been to alot of pet stores and shelters within the last few months, but this place seems to take the best care of their animals! We haven't chosen a dog or puppy yet, but I have no doubt of where our future addition of the family will be found!! Thank you for choosing your employees so wisely!
It’s horrible I visited the other day with my family on the weekend and all of the animals were living and staying in their own feccies. The odor around was disgusting as well leaving a dirt smell stuck in our noses as we walked around. They had clearly way to many dogs then what they could deal with all of their cages had clearly not been cleaned In a long time. In the past I adopted a dog from their from pure pity and sadness he later got very sick and had to stay in the vet for weeks On end.
I was able to adopt my best friend at the Pets Plus in Bensalem. At first glance I knew Butter (my dog) was meant to mine! The attention here was great, there was a large amount of puppies to pick from (which makes it even more difficult). The staff is extremely friendly, and patient when it comes to attending customer's needs. And to think that these pets are all rescues makes the cause even better.
Staff are always helpful as they can be. Animals are well taken care of. Clean store for how many living things they have, including a ton of fish tanks. They have gone from being a pet store that asks outrageous prices for mixed breed dogs to a rescue-only store. You can still find puppies here but they are still rescues and the adoption fees are very reasonable. They offer 10% off everything for First Responders & Active/Veteran military. This store adopts out cats and dogs. They sell fish, rodents & reptiles. They have a good selection of foods for all animals they sell. They sell containers, crates (priced well), toys and lots of treats.
I have been coming to pets plus in Bensalem for a little over a year faithfully every week. I was recently told Jordan the manager was let go. I am pretty upset with whoever made this decision because he is a caring, kind, and educated man. He has so much compassion and love towards the animals and was always working hard whenever I saw him. I agree with the woman Melanie in a recent comment that I will not be stepping foot into that pets plus again. Horrible decision to whoever made it!
This place is disgusting and filthy. I've been in here a few times and it seems to just get worse. Today they had a baby gate holding a sliding door(where the dogs are kept) from being opened by customers. The gate was covered in feces. A child could easily touch all of that. Food all on the floors. Random products and packages seemed like they were chewed on by something. Sickening place to be.
I had an awful experience at this Pets Plus trying to adopt a dog. The employees all need people skill training. My boyfriend and I wanted to adopt a puppy and was put on a list but which we were never called when the puppies became available. We found an adoptable dog and fell in love immediately only to have our application rejected because we were gay. We were given no explanation but a song and dance from the inept employees. When picking out a dog we had to ask several employees before there was one that actually knew which dog is which.
Denied our application to adopt because we are gay. I feel that is why. Didn't even want to help us the 4 different times we went. Denied our application but the dogs didn't even have water in their bowls. Stupid staff couldn't even tell us what kind of dogs they were and had no clue as to what their job was. Couldn't even tell us WHY we couldn't adopt. Guy Jordan was a complete ass. We have 3 cats so what. They have been around dogs. I could tell by the way he was treating us that they would call and say it was denied. Denied for what? I want to know why or I'm calling someone to see what I can do. Ppl were walking out with animals but we were told we would have to wait to be "approved" approved for what? To rescue a dog that needs a home? Three bedroom house finished basement clean safe I see no reason we were denied.Just went back and spoke to someone else and she wanted to look at our application in the dogs file to see if there was anything written as to why we couldn't adopt and all of the others that applied were there except ours... I believe the manger Jordan placed it in the trash. Meanwhile we just did the app last night so why isn't it there in the dogs file? Fishy to me. I want to know why. Told the woman we have very friendly cats who are familiar with dogs. What's the reason for denial ?
I am so happy with my experience here. My boyfriend and I adopted a 4 month old puppy, brought him home yesterday. He is such a great dog! Very friendly with other animals, children, and people. We will be rescuing our next dog from here! The staff were great, answered every question we had. Helped us pick our new puppy's food, toys, treats, shampoo, crate, and explained EVERYTHING.I would also like to comment on how well they cared for my puppy. The day we were supposed to bring Negan(Jose) home, he had some diarrhea. BUT, the staff did everything they could, even made an appointment for us THAT DAY to take our new baby to the vet, completely covered by them.VERY CLEAN PLACE(consider all of the animals in there) We had an absolutely amazing experience! And we love our new member of the family!
Hey guys I have been to your store before and it looked great. I wanted to know if you guys had ferrets and if so are they from marshals or any other big breeder? and do they come neutered and descented?
